State Pharmaceutical Assistance Programs (SPAPs) are available in certain states to help pay for prescriptions costs, which can mount quickly. You should look up your State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) to find out if there is a SPAP in the state that you live.

Medicare Savings Programs (MSPs) can assist you in paying your monthly Part B premium.

There are 3 different types of MSPs in the country. Depending on the program, you may also be able to get help paying for costs associated with parts of Medicare aside from Part B. You can also look to your SHIP to find out about MSPs.

Extra Help is a federally funded program that helps pay for a portion of Medicare Part D prescription drug coverage.

To find out if you qualify for Extra Help, you will need to contact the Social Security Administration (SSA).

It may sound like extra work to contact these programs but some of them could end up paying for most of certain parts of your Medicare coverage. To save money, make sure you research these Medicare payment assistance programs.
