How to Cancel Your Paramount Subscription Guide

Understanding Paramount+ Subscription Plans and Pricing

Paramount+ offers several subscription options designed for different viewing preferences and budgets. The service provides both ad-supported and ad-free tiers, with pricing that changes periodically. As of the most recent updates, the ad-supported plan costs approximately $5.99 per month, while the ad-free premium plan ranges from $11.99 to $13.99 per month depending on current promotions. Paramount+ also bundles with other services through various package deals, such as combining with Showtime or other streaming platforms.

Understanding which plan you currently have is the first step in the cancellation process. Your subscription type determines where you go to cancel and what options may be available to you. Some users subscribe directly through Paramount's website, while others sign up through third-party platforms like Apple, Amazon Prime Video Channels, Google Play, or Roku. Each method has different cancellation procedures and timelines.

Paramount+ occasionally offers promotional rates for new subscribers, such as reduced pricing for the first few months or free trial periods. If you're currently in a promotional period, canceling may end that discounted rate immediately. Some promotions include restrictions on when you can cancel without losing the discount. Reviewing your billing history and account details helps you understand exactly what you're paying and when your next billing cycle occurs.

Practical takeaway: Log into your Paramount+ account and check your subscription settings to identify which plan type you have and where your subscription is managed (directly through Paramount or through a third-party platform). This information is essential for following the correct cancellation steps.

Locating Your Account Settings and Billing Information

Finding your billing information on Paramount+ requires navigating to your account settings. On the Paramount+ website, you'll typically find account options by clicking on your profile icon or username in the upper right corner of the page. This menu usually contains options like "Account," "Profile," "Settings," or "Billing." On mobile apps for iOS or Android, the same profile icon typically appears at the bottom of the screen, often labeled as "Profile" or showing your account avatar.

Once in your account settings, look for sections labeled "Subscription," "Billing," "Payment Method," or "Plan Details." This area displays your current subscription tier, billing date, payment method on file, and billing history. The page shows when you were charged and what amount, helping you understand your payment cycle. Most accounts display whether billing occurs monthly or annually, and the exact date your next charge will process.

Your billing information page also typically shows any active promotional offers or trial periods associated with your account. If you signed up through a promotional period offering reduced rates or free access, this section indicates when that promotion ends and when you'll be charged the full price. Some accounts display remaining days in a free trial period or show when a discounted rate expires.

If you subscribed through a third-party service, your billing information in the Paramount+ app may be limited. The app might display a message stating that your subscription is managed through another service, with a link directing you to manage it there. In these cases, your actual subscription and billing details exist on the third-party platform, not on Paramount's system.

Practical takeaway: Before canceling, write down your current subscription tier, billing date, and where your subscription is managed. This information helps you understand any refund policies and ensures you're canceling through the correct platform.

Canceling a Subscription Managed Directly Through Paramount

For subscriptions purchased directly through Paramount's website or app, the cancellation process begins in your account settings. Navigate to your subscription or billing section and look for an option to manage, change, or cancel your subscription. The exact wording varies, but options typically read as "Manage Subscription," "Cancel Subscription," "Pause Subscription," or "Billing & Plans."

When you select the cancellation option, Paramount typically presents your current plan details and may offer alternatives before completing the cancellation. The system might suggest pausing your subscription temporarily instead of canceling, or switching to a lower-priced tier. These options exist because Paramount wants to retain subscribers, but you can proceed with cancellation if that's your preference. The platform generally doesn't require you to provide a reason for canceling, though some interfaces may ask for feedback about your experience.

After confirming cancellation, the system typically displays a confirmation message indicating when your access ends. Most subscriptions remain active until the end of your current billing cycle. For example, if you're billed on the 15th of each month and you cancel on the 20th, your subscription usually remains active until the next billing date on the 15th of the following month. The confirmation message should specify your exact cancellation date and when access stops.

Paramount generally sends a confirmation email to your registered account email address after you complete the cancellation. This email serves as documentation of your cancellation request and includes details about when your subscription ends. Keep this email for your records, particularly if there are any billing disputes. Your account login credentials remain active until the cancellation date, allowing you to watch content for the remainder of your billing period.

Practical takeaway: After canceling, check your email for a confirmation message and verify that the cancellation date matches your expectations. If you don't receive a confirmation email within a few hours, log back into your account to confirm the cancellation was processed.

Canceling Subscriptions Through Third-Party Platforms

Many users subscribe to Paramount+ through third-party services including Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Amazon Prime Video Channels, Roku Channel, or other platforms. When your subscription comes through these services, you must cancel through the same platform where you subscribed, not through Paramount's website. Canceling in the wrong location won't end your subscription or billing.

For Apple subscriptions (iPhone or iPad), open the Settings app and tap your name at the top of the screen. Select "Subscriptions," then find Paramount+ in the list and tap it. The next screen displays your subscription details and a "Cancel Subscription" option. Tapping this option prompts a confirmation, and your subscription cancels after you confirm. Apple typically allows you to use Paramount+ through the end of your current billing period after cancellation.

Google Play subscriptions work similarly on Android devices. Open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, and select "Payments and subscriptions." Choose "Subscriptions," find Paramount+, and select it. The details page shows a "Cancel subscription" button. Tapping this button removes the subscription from your account, though access continues until the current billing period ends. Google Play sends a confirmation email to your registered Google account.

For Amazon Prime Video Channels subscribers, the process differs slightly. Log into your Amazon account on a web browser, go to "Your Account," find "Prime Video Channel memberships," and locate Paramount+ in your active channels. Clicking on Paramount+ shows your subscription details and a cancellation option. Confirm the cancellation, and Amazon ends your subscription at the next billing date. Note that canceling Paramount+ through Amazon Prime doesn't affect your Prime membership itself.

Roku Channel subscriptions require logging into your Roku account through a web browser or the Roku device itself. Access your account settings, find "Manage subscriptions" or "Channels," locate Paramount+, and select the cancellation option. Roku processes the cancellation and your access ends at the current billing cycle's conclusion. Other third-party platforms like Sling TV or YouTube TV use similar procedures where you manage add-on subscriptions through that service's subscription management area.

Practical takeaway: Identify the exact third-party service where you subscribed by checking your credit card or payment app statements, then follow that specific platform's cancellation steps. Canceling through the wrong platform leaves your subscription and billing intact.

Refunds, Billing Cycles, and What Happens After Cancellation

Paramount+ typically does not offer refunds for unused subscription time when you cancel mid-billing cycle. If you cancel on the 20th of the month but your next billing date is the 30th, you generally don't receive a refund for those remaining 10 days. Your subscription remains active through the full billing cycle regardless of cancellation timing. Understanding this policy helps you decide when to cancel to minimize unused time.

Some promotional subscriptions or special offers may include different refund terms. If you received a promotional rate with specific terms or were offered a refund period, those details appear in the terms you agreed to when signing up. Checking your
